Making sure you have the right fit for a bracelet is important since you don’t want to have it loose enough to fall off or so tight you have to force the clasp to close. A bracelet that is measured flat does not reflect what the inside measurement of the bracelet is since different sized beads will change the diameter, chunky beads will make the wearable length shorter.

To ensure you have the right size you will need a dressmakers tape measure, a strip of paper or a piece of string. Using a tape measure is the best way since you can read the measurement right from the tape, if you use paper or string you will need to mark then measure against a ruler. How to measure yourself for a bracelet

Guide to measuring your wrist correctly.
- Place the beginning of your tape measure just below (elbow side) of your wrist bone.
- Wrap the tape measure around your wrist and take the measurement where the tape measure meets. (Ensure you have it to the 0 on the tape measure if your measure doesn’t start at the very end of the tape)
- Add a further 6mm/0.6cm/0.25″ if you like a close fitting bracelet, add 25mm/2.5cm/1″ if you prefer a loose fitting bracelet (for average size add 13mm/1.3cm/0.5″)
- You now have your bracelet measurement.

In my store I do provide both measurements so you can easily see if the bracelet will fit you or not, look for the wrist size in the measurements and not the length as the length is the flat measurement and provided for information only. All sizes are in mm, cm and inches so you don’t have to convert from your preferred unit of measurement.

If you see a bracelet that you like and the wrist size is incorrect for you they can usually be adjusted and at no cost for a slight alteration. Please bear in mind that bracelets that need to be significantly larger may incur an additional charge.
