Scarlet Impressions by Scarlet Leonard
Lampworker, Papercutter and Traditional Art. My artistic journey has grown over time to bring me where I am today.
Primarily a lampworker and an active member of Glass Beadmakers UK I began lampworking in 2009 and have taken classes with Lucio Bubacco, Marshall Hyde, Diana East and Sally Carver. I (mostly) work in soft glass but have taken to working with borosilicate glass to achieve more from my work.
I am also a member of the Beadworkers Guild, have a passion for paper cutting and drawing all of which find their way into working with the lampwork as well as being stand alone crafts.
Grown up colouring and Zentangle have also become a particularly good daily wind down, both of course end up helping you develop creatively as Zentangle encourages you to focus on the task but not over think it and colouring allows you to explore the spectrum and break free of ideas that things need to be a certain colour or that you should follow the rules of colour theory.
Keep up to date with what’s happening. Covering all my projects and experiments as well as looking more in depth at the different materials and equipment I use.
Take a look through the different categories at various lampwork and papercutting and mixed media finished works that I consider good enough in technicality and quality.
Want to know how something is done? What to expect from a certain tool or material? The library is a collection of resources in lampwork, paper cutting and traditional art.
